KATHY'S PRAYER CORNER
Editor’s note: Previous to
this new-only-for-these-times Stay Community! newsletter, Kathy sent out an
IPT—Intentional Prayer Time—every week on Wednesdays to her confidential Prayer
Warriors mailing list. When we began
this a month ago, we had no idea what would happen on a daily basis and I
thought, at best, I could only “publish” a newsletter once a week so I asked
Kathy to please morph her Wednesdays into Mondays. She, of course, agreed.
We’ve now been sending this out twice a week since the second week of lockdown.
At this time, I’ve asked Kathy to write her column for Stay Community! on
Wednesdays. The added good news is that CCH now has a more robust email mailing
list thanks to all the work of Superwoman Ardis with her trusty sidekicks Annie
Miller, Martha Hernandez, Stan Lum, Kathy Young, so the call to intentional
prayer will go out to more folks of the CCH community! I’ve asked Kathy to explain the history and
function of the Wednesday IPT ministry.
From Kathy Young:
The idea of praying once a week for
the Community Church of Honolulu began in the 2017 Pastor/Congregation
Relations Committee (P/CRC). With Pastor Ron's guidance, the P/CRC
members—Art Lum, Kathy Young, Margaret Tom, Brent Uyeno, Peter Chun, and Thelma
Nip—initiated "Purposeful Prayer Time". A Watchman article
announced "Wednesday Prayer":
"The P/CRC asks that we actively PRAY for
CCH...for its leaders, members (especially those who have requested prayers),
worshippers, staff, Envisioning process, and for its future. We urge all
members to pause and pray sometime on Wednesday every week. Put
reminders on your calendar or phone. Together, we ask God for His
guidance and continued blessings."
In March, 2019, CCH's Stewardship
Ministry began INTENTIONAL PRAYER TIME—"IPT Wednesdays".
Kathy Young or Art Lum sent a reminder every Wednesday via blind copy—recipients'
identities are hidden—to the CCH Prayer Warriors, who have been an active
prayer community since 2017. We are glad to take this opportunity to share IPT Wednesdays with the larger CCH community via email.

ADDITION TO PRAYING FOR THE CHURCH, JOIN THE PRAYER WARRIORS’ MINISTRY
The Prayer Warriors will continue as a smaller separate group dedicated to regularly praying for specific needs on CCH members, families, and friends. Pastor Frances invites
you to join this faithful group. This virus crisis has made it so clear that we
need each other and we need each other to be Jesus to each other and the world.

opportunity to put even more of your efforts into the service of God? Please
consider asking Kathy to be included as a Prayer Warrior.
