LET’S PRAY THIS PRAYER AGAIN AND AGAIN DURING THE WEEK
(prayer in Pastor Holly's Easter Sunrise worship bulletin)

Almighty God, this Holy Week has been full of faith deepening moments.  We joyfully greeted You with palm branches; we came to eat with You at Your table; we screamed with You in Your suffering and death; and we felt the lonely silence of Your tomb.  Now, in this early morning, we come to the shore and peer into an empty tomb; You have risen from the dead!  You died for us, and now we shall rise in You!  You defeated death’s hold on us, so that we will live with You eternally.  We praise You, our living God, and offer our lives to bring this joy to all people!  Jesus is Risen! Christ is Risen, indeed! Amen.

LET’S SING THIS SONG AGAIN AND AGAIN DURING THE WEEK
(Editor’s note: Lyrics adapted by friend for these times. Sing to the tune of “The Church’s One Foundation”)

This Easter Celebration (Carolyn Winfrey Gillette; Adaptation by Linda Rich)

1. This Easter Celebration is not like those we’ve known
A virtual congregation, we sing the hymns from home
We join our friends and loved ones, in prayer we’re not alone
Connected through the distance by screens and microphones.

2. No gathered choir is singing, no trumpets here to play.
O God of Love and Promise, our joy’s still real today
On Zoom we come together while sheltering in place.
We ponder resurrection and celebrate your grace

3. Our joy won’t come from worship that’s in a crowded room
But from the news of women who saw the empty tomb.
Our joy comes from disciples who ran with haste to see –
Who heard that Christ is risen, and then, by grace believed.

4. These days of fear and suffering one day will pass away
The resurrection story fills us with hope today
The miracle of Easter brings joy to every heart
Christ’s love still lives among us and never will depart.
